HIKING (2 DAYS) WITH OVERNIGHT STAY
OVERVIEW
wade Rum makes the perfect location to undertake a Jeep Tour adventure due to its surreal natural beauty. Coupled with its vast size at 74,000-hectares, it is described by UNESCO as a mixed natural and cultural site. Equally important is the varied desert landscape consisting of a range of narrow gorges, natural arches, towering cliffs, ramps, massive landslides, and caverns. Not to mention the Petroglyphs, inscriptions, and archaeological remains on the site testify to 12,000 years of human occupation and interaction with the natural environment. Uniquely the combination of 25,000 rock carvings with 20,000 inscriptions traces the evolution of human thought and the early development of the alphabet. In conclusion, the site illustrates the evolution of pastoral, agricultural, and urban activity in the region.
SCHEDULE
The First Day
Starting from Wadi Rum Village, you and your Bedouin Hiking guide will start hiking in the desert to visit some historical and natural places in the desert. Firstly you will go to Lawerence’s spring with a short break, after that, you will go to the map of the desert. Next, you will continue to the sand dunes area where you can walk on soft sands. Then you will go to Khazali Canyon where you will walk through the Canyon and See some old Bedouin Inscriptions. After that, you will continue to the camp where you will spend the night and have dinner with Bedouin tea
The Second Day
Following breakfast, you will start hiking to Um frouth Rock bridge where you can climb to the top. After climbing you will be able to relax whilst your guide will be preparing lunch. Next, you will be crossing the canyon of Al Mahama. \Follwingr that, you will continue hiking to the little bridge. Finally, you will return to the camp from a different route. The next day after breakfast, We will drive you back to Wadi Rum village.
It’s optional to return from the camp to the village on a camel. It costs 25 JD
